My brother in law did our annual Sunday of gun season 2 man push on his properties today. I killed a buck last year on it so I told him I would do all the walking today. Last year he missed with his Mossberg 500 after I killed mine so I let him shoot my 350 to get the feel and let him carry it with my shooting sticks. Our last drive this buck jumped out and he put the final shot on him around 125 yards and dropped him. His biggest buck to date! To top it off my son was standing with him and watched it all unfold. He said Max was giving it the “merrrp” as it bounded across the field lol….
Congrats on that!

Bumped a few on the way in and they didn't stop until the rifle cracked at 7:25. This guy and a small 6 slowly fed into the back corner and took one to the shoulder. He hobbled 25yrds and expired in field to the N within view. First ever landowners tag on the new property🤟

Smawg, doe was 55yrds away downhill broadside. She did not act like she was hurt at all while running away. I followed her trail for 70yrds with nothing more than a few hairs at impact sight. It was getting dark so headed for more lights and dinner. Went back out to find her another 30-40yrdsyrds from where I stopped with whole rear end ripped out and starting on sides and front. Because I found her, I felt obligated to tag her, used my either sex tag.
Congratulations Adam. Nothing better than taking one off your own dirt! Especially your first.

It’s a savage axis package they sell for around 275$ with a weaver scope…. That gun has killed 4 deer now.
I’m tickled to death with it. 150g Winchester bullets
That’s a great gun for the price bought one last year but mine likes the hornady American whitetail the best tried many rounds. Congrats on deer to.

That’s great to hear about the Hornady. I bought a couple boxes of the Winchester when I got the gun and it was shooting so much better than my 11-87/lightfield combo I was ecstatic! And the 1187 shoots pretty good as far as slug guns go! Those rifles are just in another league of their own accuracy and recoil wise…

Recovered. School night so we were 100 mph trying to get it put up. I'll try and get better pics before butchering. But now, all 3 kids have harvested a deer this year. I'd have the check the goal thread, but I think I've reached my season goal already. 👍

Today's deer was a backyard kill. So that always makes it better. Put out 2 bags of corn yesterday for the first time in a couple of years. And POW! A kid strikes.

Thanks everyone. We've had a rough go lately and these two kids killing deer has been our only joy. These boys are making real smiles and that shit is contagious!

What kind of groups and at what distance?
1 inch groups at 100 yards when I sighted it in with stock weaver 3x9x40 scope it came with went thru 4 or 5 different rounds and it shot the hornady American whitetail 170 grain best. Shot a doe last year at roughy 200 yards she went about 50 yards. I bought it to be able to take my daughter out when she gets older as it doesn’t kick but I have fell in love with it for the price. May have to buy her one lol.
