Going kinda the same thing right now . I lost my permission to hunt since the landowners grandkids are old enough to hunt there now and only have like a 2 acre spot to hunt that is wooded the rest is open grass fields and haven't really got any pics of deer even with running a feeder and minerals

Dang man, sorry to hear about that. That will really put a damper on your motivation real fast. But with colder weather hopefully things will pick up for you.

Anyone else just ever not have the motivation to go out? I feel like I’m stuck in a rut mentally with hunting and really don’t have the motivation to go out. I mean I do work 6 days a week and have 3 classes 8-12 Monday- Thursday and 3 online classes but still I am usually pumped for season and this year I don’t have a real desire to go out like I did previous years. I’m going to try and go out for the first sit of the year tomorrow night if the wind is right though.

The thread “what did you do for the deer today” was all about me looking for motivation. I was in a hell of a rough patch.

Side thought from that...I’ve killed deer the last 3 times I’ve gone out. WTF, how’s that for a comeback?! My last two sits last year yielded back to back kills, and I’ve gone out once this year and put a tag in use...talking about being spoiled.

I think I am going to take my 7 year old out but he won't be caring a weapon

I started Braydon out when he was 5. Bought him a suction-dart crossbow to practice with. Told him when he shoots bullseyes I'd buy him a real Xbow. Two weeks later it cost me some money. :smiley_coolpeace:

He wants a compound bow but he I would guess is on the weaker side we went to Wal-Mart and got one off the shelf and it was 15 pounds and he couldn't get it all the way back and to be honest I am not sure how to teach him to shoot it he shot a bow at a cub scouts meeting and has wanted one since

Lots of squirrels, chipmunks and coons at the end... The squirrels kept going spastic and it’d last for about 20 minutes at a time... happened about 4times find see or hear anything moving thru but who knows my buddy the coyote might still be around...
That’s all the hunting for me for the remainder of the week, won’t be out until next week.... When it’s cooler....

That’s awesome man! That will definitely help with the motivation to get back out!

I bought my 9 year old daughter and Mission Craze, ready to shoot, used for around $150. They are very adjustable and something to grow into.
