My cousin and I took a few new pics and I found this deer on a field on 10/22 on a camera I hadn’t checked.

Well - I just realized this a day or so ago, and thought I would share.

So my entire life, no matter where I killed a buck, I would drive back to my grandpaps house to get a picture with him and the deer. I would always surprise him and he was always excited as heck! Well, as many of you know, grandpap passed away June of 2020 - he lived a good long life but I still miss him daily.

Fast forward to me shooting this deer. After letting him hang and then getting him processed, I finally had time to take pictures with my son and myself - that date happened to be 11/6/2021 (Grandpaps birthday, he would have been 98).

I am sure some believe it is just a coincidence but I like to think it is more than that. The end of one tradition, to the first Fall my son, was alive and starting a new one.

PS - My son's middle name is after my grandpap.

Coincidence maybe, but I will continue to believe Grandpap was with us that day, laughing and smiling right alongside my boy and me.

Hunt hard and safe all - thank you for following this story.
