EHD in Ohio?

I also have a family farm just for deer hunting in southern Monroe county and i ve been all over wayne national and have not found or smelled any deer and all my friends have yet to find or here of any dead deer.....i will be checking every evening after work.... i will keep you guys posted...
Nothing on my family farm in meigs co. I have only heard of one dead deer in the central part of the county.
I haven’t seen or heard anything about that property I’m on not far from there. I know some of the other properties owned by them has been hit, but didn’t ask which ones. She was a little sick looking bringing it up.

From what I’ve been told is that the midge flies don’t tolerate the cold at all so that’s why most are hoping for a hard frost. I have talked to some of the locals in SE Carroll County(where I hunt) and some have reported a few dead deer. Just across the Jefferson line has really taken a big hit. 27 found on farm and 25 on another.
Normally after a hard frost kills them off. Years ago we wouldn't have this issue with late Sept or early Oct frosts. But anymore with this fricking weather we are lucky to see a heavy frost until Nov.

I’ve been checking heavy and so far none found in Monroe county at my farm but Belmont County northern and eastern have heard of some deaths and I smelled a couple spots on route 147 outside of st.clairsville also a spot on 148 about 7 miles west of Powhatan point
It's a shame with all the new and extra deer that are dying with this weather prolonging it, as if we haven't seen enough. Long term extended doesn't show a chance of frost till Nov 2nd, with a low of 33, which will not cut it. From what I gather you need a long sustained cold snap around 28-29 all night, the way it's going this may go on till thanksgiving, this weather sucks!

A landowner that has begged me for years to come kill deer on his 700+ acres was in the shop tonight. He HATES deer. Claims there are way too many, eat all of his beans, etc. He was genuinely sad when he told me that he thinks EHD has killed all the deer in his area. He said he had found 25 and has not actually been looking for them, just stumbled on those while doing farm work. And this is from a guy that has told me to come out to the farm at night with a rifle! Lol. I NEVER imagined I'd see him upset over deer dying off, but he is. It just seems such a waste from a human perspective, apparently even from a man who always claimed to hate them.
Hate to hear that. That really hurts. I sure hope it rebounds quickly for you guys.
