He got thrown over the hill and will be covered with hay tomorrow with two Duke
1 3/4s set on each end.
I had a nice big coon today(22#) with some really nice guard hairs.
Plus I had mink #2 in a 110 I had set underneath an undercut tree stump.Heck yeah!
It had a little patch of white under its chin.
Pretty good size, almost 16"

I almost took one out this morning.... 20 ga slug would of worked I guess lol.... Hung around for a while tempting me as well.... Good thing I have a conscience lol....
Thanks everybody. Needless to say I was pretty excited to see that mink in my 110. Gonna skin it out tomorrow.
No critters tonight but I did get my mink I caught last night skinned out. This is the first mink I have ever skinned and I did good, no holes and I didn't cut the glands. I did keep the glands to use as lure though. I was told you could take the glands and put them in a jar with Vaseline, crush the glands once they're in the petroleum jelly and mix it all up. You can then use the petroleum jelly like a paste for lure because of the gland mixed in there. Worth a try for sure.
I think this is a pretty big one. I don't know for sure because I'm new at catching these. Maybe one of the other trappers could chime in and let me know what you guys think.

That's a good size critter there Don. I don't see them much up here but the ones I do see I think are a bit smaller then that one.
Now that I think about it, I see more weasel then mink around here. The weasel are about half that length.

No records set today but did manage to catch a coon and a grinner. Let the grinner go and the coon came home with me.

LOL as I didn't know that either. Never heard that before. I must live a sheltered life or I just don't pay attention. Probably some of each.
Good work Don. I was really bummed this morning.... I didn't expect much.... but no coon sucked. I was only able to set a couple sets by the roads where I could check on my way to work.... but tomorrow I'm gonna lay some steel. I have 6 days off in a row starting tomorrow. So shits gonna get real. Haha
