Hunting this weekend?

After sitting yesterday evening and analyzing the new spot I mapped out what needed cleared. So I went in today and busted my ass clearing shooting lanes and vision lanes. Checked the camera on the way out and there was a nice 10 poiinter on ther about 2 hours after we left. Figures...
They never come in when we are there in shooting light! Lol

I guess ZJ and Diane are both hunting tonight....She's going to the fallen barn (Excellent Blind) where some shooters have been frequenting. She says since ZJ is gonna try and tag-out.......It's Buck only for her. The heater is still going to the blind to keep him in there longer as wind is right.
About to check 8 camera chips....So may be an alternate plan I am unaware of..........

ZJ is Officially Tagged Out!......He shot a good sized doe tonight and used the last tag. He's a Happy Camper as he beat the old record. He got his buck and 3 doe this year.....(and Dad is tired!)

In November? No. In mid-December? Eh, borderline in my opinion. I would say most of us have hunted long and hard already, therefore staying home for a sure thing bj would be the right choice. However, I am also thinking you haven't had a ton of time to get out and hunt this year? If correct, then according to my calculations, you could flip a coin and not be wrong either way.rotflmao

Had every intention of going out this morning. My last job of the day yesterday was about a quarter mile from the ridge. I swung in there just to check and make sure that no one had messed with my setup. Twenty yards from my setup was a fresh scrape and rub.

Had the company Christmas party last night. Wife and I decided to go out with the group for a few drinks and ended up closing out the bar. Was just going to stay up and then go out but then the wife offered up a bargain that was a little unfair if you ask me. B.j. or hunting in the morning? Needless to say I didn't make it to the woods this morning

I wanted to hunt barely though because what you guys are saying about the second rut is exactly what I was thinking. Might just go out this evening and see what happens.

I hunted last night and saw 5 does and a shooter buck, but the buck would not present a shot. All deer were coming to a picked corn field. Hoping to get back out the next two nights.
