Possible that he just ran himself to death, but it’s also possible he was sick. When Maddy and I seen him he was walking back and forth, I just figured he was scent checking the bait. Now I’m thinking otherwise.

I was blown away by that pic of him skinned out. Looks like a giant squirrel. My guess would be he did of exhaustion, but better safe than sorry as the others have said.
I still cheese when I see that pic in my phone.
Alright boys...what’s my options?
I’ve called my GW multiple times now and 2 weeks ago he finally called me back and left a message that the tag would be in the mail. Guess what, I still don’t have it. I’m getting a bit upset over this deal...and I don’t well when I react over emotion. So I haven’t called him lately. I don’t want to jump his chain of command and piss him off, but what do I do? But 5 weeks is completely unacceptable to me. At what point do I step on his toes? Because here we have the classic case of someone doing something right and getting screwed around. I can’t even deer hunt right now because my freezer has this head in it and I’m out of space.

Just call district 5 office and get the stupid tag. I have never had any luck with him. I’m still waiting for a tag from 12-15 years ago. Likely as not, you will never get one. If you really want one, call the district office.
Deer is going on the wall, so I need a tag. I’ll get ahold of them then, thanks
Stop by the District 5 headquarters on your way by next time. It's real close to that barn you took a picture of.
