Went out road scouting this morning and seen a beautiful 12 pointer standing right next to the no hunting sign in the thicket I hunt. Really cool rack with a double brow tine on the right side. Come on cool weather!!!

Thats awrsome! They die when its warm too bud, they just stink more. I'm sitting in a stand that if you read about it in North American Whitetail you would say its a no brainer. Everything a set should be from food, the funnel, close to bedding, inside corner of a corn field, two big overgrown waterways go a half mile into the field and lead right to the stand. Andnthe stand sits about 50 yards inside the woods in the funnel. Only one problem. I've been skunked in it the last two sits and this morning is shaping up any better. Opening morning, an evening last weekend, and nada so far this morning. The sign is here, trails out the ass, not sure whats up. I have another stand further down the field a few hundred yards in another semi open section of woods that i may hunt in the morning.

Bumping them out of the field when you walk in?

Entry is clean across a cut bean field to the north. Easy 75 yard stalk to the stand in the woods. Never blown the woods or the stand that I'm aware of. I'm thinking it may heat up once this 300 acres of corn comes off. The property is killer, the deer for miles will head this way to rut and winter once the crops are down. Plenty in here now but i must be off the X.

First deer spotted. Lol. Small 110 eight behind me about 60 yards worked a small piss scrape

If its going to be above 40 i quarter them and put them in a big cooler with ice or frozen 2 liters on the bottom. Keep it out of the sun and pull the plug once a day. Like hanging you can keep them a little over a week that way.

If you're not in the woods this week you better be. All my cams have bucks showing up. Daylight. Mature deer. Almost tagged out tonight if not for the wind blowing east when it was forecasted southwest. Already seeing pushing activity at my place.

Damn. Hopefully they hold off in my area as my vacation starts on the 4th. I might try to sneak in a few evening hunts next week.

I hope you nail a big one soon, this is my favorite time of year
