So I’ve got a buddy from AK that has moved to OK. Begging me to come visit him and he might of just tripped my trigger. His dad has almost 3,000 acres of unhunted land! He’s owned the property for almost 40 years and no one hunts it. Well, he said if I make the trip from Ohio to see him, I can hunt.

Tags are pushing $500, plus the trip itself. Out of the question for this year, but next year is sounding pretty dang good. Honestly thinking of flying in and buying a rust free truck to drive back.

These guys are not hunters at all. Was almost laughable trying to ask them both questions about deer. Basically came down to me telling him I’d order a camera and have sent to him before I ever asked again. 😂

We shall see, if nothing else, it’ll be fun to talk about. Far enough dream at this point that I have t even said a word to Christine. Might be two years...be my 40th birthday present to myself.

Anyone else get these day dreams made up in their heads?

Or you can ask a too brother to drive you down and hunt with you 😂
"J" Tell you what I'm sure both you and I have a few extra vacation days left, so I'll pick you up and then we'll get Dave... Dave as far as dreaming.... I did that once about Illinois, now I go out there every year and the light is always left on any time I want to head out... So ya never know... So what time you want us to pick you up????

Let me go hunt it this year and scout things out for ya. Could be the start of a great friendship and a connection to se Louisiana. Redfish heaven and fresh seafood

Dave....bestest buddy, pal, friend that I ever had!! When do you want to leave? Lol. I would try to make it happen as soon as I could if I were you. Waiting two years means that’s two hunting seasons that you’ll never get back. Like Fletch said, he had a dream about Illinois and he made it happen...if you really want it, you’ll make it happen TOO! Good luck out there!

I have dreams of hunting the western states every year. I head OK has muleys in the extreme western end of the state. Had a buddy call and invite me there this year on short notice. OTC muley and whitetail tags and a shorter drive than the traditional western states. Assuming we get the house sold, I'll be going west next year at some point.

I’ve been through OK a few times. Did some work out that way. It is worth seeing if nothing else. Neat terrains, western/Native American culture, etc. it’s a cool state. They kill some stud bucks there as well.

I lost some sleep last night looking at things...😃
Ahhh…. The seed has been planted... Laying in bed staying awake thinking about big bucks and wide open country.... Hey dreams do happen, just look at Chad... Last year at this time he never thought he'd be hunting Illinois this year... Now its down to less than a month before he leaves... Bet he's having some dreams right now... Shit does happen... Dave hope it all comes together for ya... Now start packing....

It ain’t the dream of big bucks Rich. It’s about something new! New landscape, new animals, rekindling old friendships maybe making some new ones, and honestly I’m more fired up about hunting hogs. Something I’ve always wanted to do and just haven’t yet. Big bucks don’t get me excited like some, I’m happy with a good buck and that’s enough for me.
