Idk how you feel about the Amish!!!

Funny story here. When I killed my buck on public land down at camp this year. I recovered him the next morning as the shot wasn't the best. As I was bringing up the 2nd load to the truck the sun was shining in my eyes but I see someone standing in the road. It surprised me a little as no one was parked by the truck. Anyway it turned out to be a young Amish guy. He congratulated me and was checking out the buck. As we stood their chit chating he had asked me how the hunting was. I told him I had hunted all week from daylight to dark without seeing a buck until I got this one. He told me that I had to have alot of self-discipline to hunt like that.

So when I got home I told my wife that I am so good that even an amish guy said I had alot of self-discipline. LOL.

Buddy was hunting a piece of ground they have permission on, he shot a doe, it was pile driving into the ground close too the property line. Shot rang out, out jumps an Amish and throws his tag on it. My buddy wanted too kick his ass but the property owner talked him out of it. He later called the game warden, he came out later gun week and busted 5 of them for numerous infractions, two were actually arrested and hauled off the jail.... Carroll county....

We have dealt with them in WV. If it's brown it's down...no matter how many tags they have. They had a box trailer with 11 in it. GW fined them for not enough tags. We sternly point out the private property lines to them. We never saw them this year though.

I hate bashing people.....okay...no I don't! [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] Every single experience I've had with the Amish in regards to hunting, property lines, and general respect for other hunters has been terrible. We have a not so PC name for them around here. We don't have any by my main farm but have had multiple dealings with them on my Carrollton property and Ashtabula property. The worst part is no matter how much you fine then or punish them, they don't believe rules apply to them and they'll continue to break them. It's gotten so bad in my Ashtabula property that my uncle in law who lives there takes much more drastic steps when he sees them on his property...lol. Dislike them to the fullest. No respect from me.

Sad that all deer don’t get this kind of attention. Because you know this happens often and they just don’t get caught.

Right. If it was a doe or 100"buck we wouldn't hear about it. You know this happens much more frequently. Amish or otherwise. Why does it take a buck of this caliber to get people pissed?
