Avoid Remington 770's!. I saw one where the drilled and tapped screw holes made the scope one inch to the left. Hideous junk and who needs a plastic trigger guard?

I've got an older Remington 700 ADL that I am considering selling. I've owned the gun since 1976 and have killed groundhogs past the 400 yard mark with it. Gun has good finish on the stock and bluing is about 90%. If you may be interested PM me.

The axis is an entry level savage and like Frank said accurate right out of the box. The only down fall is it don't have the accu trigger, other than that it's an outstanding rifle. If you don't mind a heavier trigger it would make you a well built tack driver. You can have a sharp shooter trigger put in it for around $100 down the road as well.
Trigger pull can be over come. Up until 15-20 yrs. ago there wasn't any accu triggers. Then we all lived with it or went to after market triggers or a Rem 700 which had the best trigger on the market. IMHO
I would say .999% lived with the factory trigger and did just fine.
I bought a Savage 110 when they came out and it shot one hole groups. I had a Sharp shooter trigger installed and it still shot one hole groups.
