I’m a simple man really and I absolutely love the outdoors, whether I’m working in it, playing in it or just simply hanging out, the outdoors is my comfort zone, just ask the wife

I suppose you can blame my old man for that because he ingrained that country life in me since my early childhood days.

Hunting and being safety conscious pretty much goes hand in hand the way I see it.
Having that ‘BE-SAFE’ mindset before I even walk out the door generally pays off in dividends, especially at my age nowadays I'm sure.

I’m no longer a young buck anymore and that took a little convincing from those that are close and apparently still love me, thank GOD!

I’ve always been an independent sole and making decisions throughout my life has always been a trial and error thing, no question about it. I've always learned from my mistakes one way or the other. I don't expect to change in that department anytime soon.

So, my goals are to always come home in one piece.

Hunt some new places, some public land and get into some different counties ‘TOO’.

I’m truly in love ‘Mother Nature’ and what she always has to offer, so with any of the wildlife encounters I have, I’ll study and learn from as best as I can. I’ll try use those experiences to gain any upper hand over the game I hope to harvest.

I’m also a patient hunter, so I’m never in a big hurry to fill any of my tags.
.
Shot placement and being as ethical as one could possibly be is extremely important to me. I’ve hunted with some in my past that no longer hunt with me today because of their bad choices and that’s truly a shame.

I hope to harvest more deer this year. I’m about out of venison completely and I really don’t like that, so I intend on harvesting more than just the two deer this season.

And last, but not least, I look forward to meeting as many of the ‘TOO’ members as possible at Stroud’s 2019.

It’ll be nice to put a face to the name, that’s for sure.

Best of luck to all of you this season and may each of you accomplish your goals!!!

Made me smile to see this pop up again by you!

I honestly have had so much going on that I haven’t put much thought into it. So for now my goal will be to be thankful for what I have and who I have it with.
I have have had a great season with some great friends. This coming weekend the next generation will get to see some deer camp. I will be hunting next to Maddy for the first time off our own property along with mike and Nate. My Uncle Tom might join us for a day. I’ve also hunted side by side with Michael and Jon this year. I also managed to bag a mature buck, so that helps make the season a success!

How’d the rest of you guys do so far? Still plenty of time to make things happen.

Well my goals are:
1. Spend time with my boys.

Doing that
2. Do a lot more duck hunting early and get Pearls HRCH Title.

Got two more passes to get it.
3. Hopefully get my boys a mature buck.

Hunter killed one w bow on public
4. Hunt hard during the rut.

Currently doing it as I type
5. Enjoy the process, the little things along the journey.

Loving every minute of it
6. Make everlasting memories with my boys so when they are at my age they will cherish these times and take their kids out enjoying the great outdoors.

Ongoing process
7. Making a hunt in north Missouri w a friend on his leases last week of October, maybe, just maybe kill a good buck with my bow.

Went but didn’t kill. Went back on public land and knocked it out the park.
8. Take friends and the boys friends on as many hunts as possible....pass it on.

Made a few hunts w the boys friends
9. Make time for the wife to come up and spend time at the camp and make a hunt with me.

She came to the camp twice
10. Catch plenty catfish between hunts at the camp.

No catfish to be caught. We tried tho
11. Cook and eat our bounty at the camp.... and yes drink a few cold ones by the fire.

Always
12. Mostly be thankful for the time we have here and pray for everyone’s safety.

Very thankful
13. Kill a few deer and hogs on public.

Running out of tags and time
14. Enjoy my time away from work!

I don’t even want to go back to work but got 3 years left. My goal has always been 33 years. I’m at 30 now.

So looks like I’m doing it and doing it well.

To learn a few new ways to serve deer. Harvesting one more would be a bonus. I'm lucky, in that I'll be out in the woods a few more times, before spring comes.

Only a few goals for me this year.

1- Shoot a deer at my new property

2- Shoot at least 2 deer with my recurve

3- As always, just enjoy the hunts for what they are and share some experiences with family and buddies.
Well, goal #1... check. Goal #2... 1 out of 2 ain’t bad, but it’s not over yet. Goal #3... check. I’ve enjoyed the heck out of this year’s deer season so far. The weather has been great and I have a freezer that’s bursting at the seems. I feel very blessed to have the opportunities and successes that I’ve had so far.

Get my kids into the woods and view deer close is top goal if a kid would score itd make my top memories. Hunt a lot and be aggressive is goal two. next March a major housing change is going to happen God willing. So I doubt there will be much time for anything else but building in my future. I want to enjoy the hell out of this year and take it all in. And as always fill the freezer. Get my wife in a tree might be in order this year as well.....
Goals accomplished expect the wife. Still got a tag begging to be filled. I'm not looking forward to deer and squirrel hunting ending. Every year I feel I don't get out as much as I'd like and this season is no different. A lot of time left but house projects and side jobs are closing out the season fast.

Learn more public ground near school.
Have fun, be safe.
Enjoy camaraderie of hunting/ following along to others seasons.

Didn’t get on as much public as I would have liked. Plan to hit it hard for turkeys in the spring.

Having fun and being safe.

Camaraderie has been awesome. Hunted a bunch of double stand set-ups with my buddy for hang and hunts. Following along with a couple mentors/ members seasons has been a blast as well.

First recurve deer taken being a mature buck is the icing on the cake for this season

You need to add that making an event is needed. Bring them kiddos down to paint creek this spring to hang with our kids. Catch some fish, find some shrooms. Tells lies while the ladies bitch about us. Good times👍🏼

My goals.

1. Have fun
2. Get my kids on deer.
3. I did a ton of scouting this year by camp in Ohio on a bunch of new ground. Hope to learn more about the ground and perhaps put a monster down. LOL.

Ok.
1. Check
2. Check as 2 of the 3 got bucks, and my son also got a doe. Oldest daughter didn't get anything but she only hunted a couple of days.
3. check. Mostly anyway. I did get on more deer this year on public. Did learn alot. Haven't put a monster down yet, but still time left.

I believe the fall deer camp will be the 1st go around for me. I'm starting a major project this spring and will be living needing every spare moment, but I'll make a major attempt to get to the fall gathering. If we'd get ice this winter I'd head to that thing up north if it's happen this winter yet.....

Safety. For myself. For my friends. Family. Even hunters I've never met.

Enjoy the season. Keep pressure off myself. Enjoy the moment.

Help my friends get on deer.

Thank God for my time each and every hunt. I think I did this every hunt last year. Should thank him for every day, every minute, every breath, and all we have.

Probably only need one for the freezer as we have some carry over meat right now. That would be nice. Buck, doe, whatever. Decent sized deer would work.

100% accomplished. As a bonus I got a nice buck AND a nice doe. Was able to give more than half the meat to people in need I knew could use it. Got one friend on a deer. Wasn't for lack of effort on my part. One buddy had health issues preventing him from hunting. The other only had a couple days off due to work. Did get him on a big doe. Had a safe season. Thanked God regularly. Enjoyed the heck out of the season. It was a blast.

1. Come home safe from every hunt
2. Take my first deer with a recurve
3. Hunt some public ground for deer
4. Basically get out of my comfort zone and learn (recurve, public ground, tree saddle, maybe some spot/stalk)

It's fun to look back on these. I'd have to say I checked off all my goals for the season. Taking 2 deer with a recurve in year 1, with the first being a public land buck from the saddle, exceeded my expectations.
