I went shed hunting one time...found what I was looking for and haven't done it again. Lol

I've been out walking around a few time since, but it wasn't the intended trip. Maybe this year I'll go out "shed hunting" again.

Wow is right... That's a gorgeous shed... After looking at this and other threads you guys got me wanting to go for a walk... I have a 1000 acres of woods across from my house here in Jersey, I think I'll put my boots on and go for a walk... Doubt I'll find any though, but I could use the exercise.. Heading out to Illinois first week of March to look... There I might find a few...

This will probably NEVER EVER happen to me again! I was on the 4 wheeler shed hunting a new property I recently acquired. There is very little there except cut soybean field, extra wide/ semi thick fence rows and several large oak trees on those fence lines. On the last fence line, I pulled up on a huge buck in its bed. We were less than 20' staring at each other. When I stood up to check out his body (light brush in the way). He came unglued and tried going 3 directions at once. His left side fell off right in front of me! I couldn't frickin' believe it! I got his shed and then followed him through 3 fields hoping the other side would fall off. Unfortunately it did not. I threw a tape on it and came up with right at 67" and the G4 which has a split is broke off. The other side was perfect and looked to be even bigger. This side weighs in at 1# 12 oz. What a day to remember! I was so excited, I'd of hated to be on Chads end of the phone.....rotflmao

I'd give 1/2 of my left nut (other half if both sides fell off) to see that happen! When I called Rick back he answered and was sounding like he was having a heart attack lol. That's once in a lifetime, congrats!!!

That's once in a life time man!!!!
Ha! Awesome.

It probably took a moment for your mind to register that it happened for real and you weren't hallucinating. That's 'pinch yourself' type stuff. Just awesome man. Hell of a day!

Your are so right Gordo. It was all like slow motion for a minute. I couldn't believe it at first.....at least until I got that horn in my hand! I can still see the whole thing unfold....like it was yesterday! rotflmao
