Retaining the Title

Since I am at work and won’t be going out this eve, I have retained the title of the Worst Deer Hunter in Ohio. Some of you gave it a good effort but until I dumb up I can’t be dethroned. Still others didn’t put up much of a fight and tagged out early. I’m willing to bet on myself again next season.

Ya and I did it in Pa. So I am relying on RFC for my venison. You should try them too!

Based on my calculations, if I don’t eat any venison for the rest of February and only eat a pound a week and take a couple weeks off in the summer, I should have just enough to get me to opening day next year

Mike, don’t be too hard on yourself. You passed on a handful of bucks or better this year that 90% of hunters out there would have shot during the rut and 99% woulda shot this past month. Kudos to you for only shooting at something only you would be happy with.

Agreed J. Due to unforeseen circumstances I did not get to hunt much this year. I can say though that Mike saw more deer in one sit than I did all year.

Honestly, I had a great season. The quality was not what I was looking for but we are starting to get some age structure and with that eventually top end bucks will be here.

I will say:
1) patience does NOT always pay off as years of futility have proven.
2) Without Lady Luck on your side it doesn’t matter how much effort you put in.
3) I will be back next year to defend my title

I had a great season, passed on some good bucks waiting for something big. My worst season ever for killing. All by choice as was yours I’m understanding. It’s the “hunt and journey” that drives me. Good luck next year.
