So I've had a couple of pairs of the original Nikon Monarch binoculars for 15+ years. One pair has been junk for a long time and the other pair just aren't what they use to be. I am hard on them as they live in my truck in any/all weather. I finally sent the junk pair in a while back. They couldn't fix them but granted me a credit of $279.95. This could get me a set of the low end Monarch of today's standard. But the better of the two they offer is closer to $200 more. Anyone have the newer Monarch M5 or M7? Looking for reviews to see if it is worth giving them more money.

I am also considering sending them this other pair to see what they can do with them. But that would leave me without a set and that is like walking around without a pocket knife!

One more thing, does anyone know if they do an annual sale? Credit is only good for the Nikon store.

Well shit, I was gonna try Nikon this time. Im tired of having to send Vortex back. I think this will be the 3rd time sending Vortex vipers back in, My current pair has become a monocular. What good is there great warranty if you have to keep using it?

I feel I'm pretty hard on mine. My 8x42 Monarchs have held up pretty well. I'd recommend them.

I've been using a pair of Cabela's that I believe are made by vortex and a set of Bushnell's that are amazing for no more money than I paid for them. They have both been dropped a few times and still working fine so far.

I am happy with them and I am replacing them with another pair. I'm just trying to figure out if the extra $200 is worth upgrading to the M7. The pair that was trashed was part of a 4wheeler mishap.
