A huge highway pileup accident in Texas earlier today and some people posted real time video while it was happening. I attached a 3 minute video below the news article that can only be described as horrific so, viewer discretion advised.

Woman survives 100-plus-car pileup, crawls out back window on I-35 in Fort Worth

A friend of mine lived right off the highway in that area. He’s currently in Columbus....

Horrible and sad situation. I tell my wife all the time, stay the hell away from those semis because they will kill you in a heartbeat. They're roughly 80,000 lbs loaded, her Dodge Durango is roughly 5,000 lbs. That's 16 dodge Durangos hitting you at the same time, you don't stand a chance. The only safe place is behind one, and the worst is one beside or behind you. If shit gets squirrely head for the grass and don't stop until you're ahead of the pileup.

Semi plowed into standing traffic here on 280 a couple years ago. Killed a family from gibsonburg. The burn mark is still there along with the white crosses. The shitty economy of Obama flooded the roads with inexperienced cdl drivers. Wonder how many were looking at there phone instead of out the fucking window. It wasn't the weather's fault.

So every driver of the 133 cars involved were looking at their phones? Come on man, it is black ice, don’t know how often you guys get black ice up there, but we do and I can tell you, you can’t walk on it, much less, control your car on it.

It was a long elevated section of the highway, so right before there was no ice, so no problem, then the icey part started and there was nothing anyone could do, so don’t start blaming people for the deaths involved in this.

After watching numerous cell phone videos of this accident, I don't recall seeing one person trying to get out of the vehicle and get the fugg away from that mess. Armchair quarterbacking, I know. I'd like to think that if i was in that pileup, I'm checking my mirror and making a run for it. Scary shit.

I had a chat last week with some guys about some wrecks I see that stick with me. I do a ton more driving than your average person...I won't watch things like this. Last week I just missed the impala vs tanker truck head on. I will likely never forget the scene...much like anyone involved or around this. I feel for the friends and family's that have to see this kind of thing shared. That would be rough.

My heart too goes out to the families and those affected negatively by this tragic accident. It just goes to show how things can go horribly wrong in a instance. My years traveling across our nation has left me with horrific memories from much the same as this accident. In fact, I lost both parents to a violet and tragic auto ancient at a young age. I know how life can be easily snuffed out by auto accidents regardless of circumstances that lead up to them.

I hope that many will take a moment and huge those that mean most to you today, and honestly, perhaps that was my intimal intent by posting this. Share the love to those that mean the most to you! I hope you understand, thanks!

Didn't say all clay. Black ice just appeared? Did it rain? Had to be below 32 degrees. So at least the road had to be wet. Still driving way to fast for the conditions. And yes we do get black ice up here.

Usually heavy frost causes that. That’s what I had seen when stationed in Arkansas.

Yeah that's what happens here. Usually when we get a snap warm-up and the overpasses are still frozen. It was bad three years ago. I remember because my truck was new. Heading to work early morning I hit the first overpass on 795 and lost control. Can't believe I didn't hit the wall. Probably the most scared I have ever been behind the wheel. It was so bad they had the Perrysburg Maumee bridge closed.

Going too work one early morning, went too get on the highway and the ramp was closed due to an accident. Did a detour too get on at the next exit north. Got on a state route and headed north. First overpass I crossed I spun out and was facing south on the other side. Luckily no other vehicles were around as I’d of taken them out. Regained my composure and started the truck back up and went too work.... It happens that fast....

Fascinating how vehicles have active accident prediction and shut off the fuel. I slung mine around on an exit ramp once and it too shutoff. Started right back up but it kind if peeved me off because you lose power steering in the middle of gripping and ripping.
