I want to inform people Jim! That’s why I want to talk about it. 2 years ago I wasn’t informed and I went out opening day and killed a doe. Ended up being the only mature doe seen all year. The guilt I had/have is something I don’t wish on anyone. It could’ve been avoided had I just known it was going on in the area. My intent here isn’t to stop it from happening, it is to inform people to be aware.

The world might not have stopped when it hit here, but my world did. Shut my local hunting spot down for 2 years. That hurt me.

Due to a lack of pictures comming from my Spartan camera in Illinois I am a little concerned... Yesterday I called the Illinois DNR and spoke to someone that keeps a close record of diseases in Illinois... He said to date they have no major outbreaks of EHD... So my farm is surrounded by 400-500 acres of corn... Hopefully that's where all the deer are....

As of last week there was for sure confirmed cases by DNR of EHD in Adam's county. I have to dount it is wide spread in this part of the state. I have never seen it this dry in my life. Let's keep fingers crossed, but I'm afraid it to be inevitable.
