This buck looks really similar to a buck I have a camera from last fall around the Marysville area. I seen your location as Darby Creek. Was this buck killed around the Marysville area?
Sorry I just saw this Hillbuck. No, this buck was killed in Franklin County. I live near the Madison-Franklin line right across from Prairie Oaks Metro Park.

It will vary by region, county and farm at this point. The buck I shot this morning was on the cruise. On the way back in, we saw one with a doe. It's definitely prime time, but one hot doe could mean a full day on stand with no sightings. Meanwhile a guy a 1/2 mile away has the hunt of a lifetime. Just need to be out there and hope you are on the X...

So what is the opinion of all you experts on where we are with the rut. Beginning, middle, end, lock down,

Walking around Walmart just now waiting on meds...I'd say it's on. Shelves are empty of all the good stuff. Guys in camo harassing the girls in yoga pants. Strutting their shit smelling like camp fire and stale beer with a 4 day no shave. I'd hate to be a girl at the local watering hole about now. Even have a girl behind me in line right now that smells of patrulie oil...I wonder if she has hairy nipples.

This would be the Hillsboro Walmart.

Franklin county, not much happening where I'm at yet. I still have the same bucks on camera mostly at night every couple of days. Haven't been able to get anything other than the buttons and a spike to respond to rattling or calls. I'm also not seeing any does either which may have something to do with the lack of buck activity. I think the does in my area tend to stay in an area that I cannot hunt but hopefully they will break away and/or get chased down to my area and bring the bucks with them. Of course the 2 does I shot early this year may have been the only 2 around lol

Ya once you kill the only does around that tends to put a damper on the rut activity lol

Yep lol. Didn't think they were the only two around though since I was covered up with them in the early-season. Just figured I would thin the herd a bit but I guess that backfired. Live and learn lol

image.jpgOne of my cousins killed this big 8 this evening. I saw a big 140-150ish 10 point guarding a doe in my dads field around 5:15.

Congrats to your cousin, Marcus! Bearded Chad and I had a couple small bucks pushing does around. Got a text that there was a nice one chasing a doe on the farm next door. Tomorrow is another day!

In the stand all day and didn't see anything but one country block away and my buddy got a nice one. We had great activity a week ago and then nothing for six days. We were texting back and forth and around three he says fug this shit I'm going home to rake leaves. I talk him into staying and at 4:1IMG_20161111_165752704.jpg8 he shoots this ten pointer.

Damn! Looks like that one will make the book! I'll bet your buddy is glad you talked him in to staying. What did he green score?
