I was just at his house for the weekend. He hasn’t got to use them yet. Dry as it gets.Guess Dave was right!!

I haven't given much thought over the years to windshield wipers. At times I have let them go til they fall apart before buying new one's. The one thing I do get though for all of our vehicles is good windshield washer fluid that has Rain-X in it. That stuff is great and in light rains you don't even need wipers most of the time as the water just sheds off.
The salt might have done them in finally. Not sure if I'll try and clean them off again or just replace them.

I remember when I was younger a neighbor down the street used to use kerosene to wipe his blades down. Said he got twice the life out of them. Watched him doing it one day and asked. Not sure if it really works as I've never tried it.

Alcohol wipes are what’s typically used too clean them. But I’ve used paper towel soaked with rubbing alcohol.
They needed cleaned again and I needed a set of rotors...broke down mostly because my daughter will be taking this vehicle soon. You can see they still look fine after all these years. That is a new and old one. $50 well spent.

I clean my blades with Dawn dish washing detergent then rinse. Next I use AT-205 to wipe them till all the black comes off. My wife complains she needs new blades, I get out the Dawn and At-205 and she thinks they are new blades!

Bought wipers for the wife's CRV. I was bitching (cause I'm a cheap skate) about the cost. She said, "I guess they can be Christmas presents then." In hind site, maybe I should have put something else in her stocking along with the wipers. That is another story. lol
So they weren't quite due. Replaced the rear wiper. Front two wipers have been in the back since December. We took off for the Smokies last week. On the way down I'm like "These wipers suck. Are the new ones still in the back where I put them?" Nope. She took them out before the trip to make room. WTF? She wanted the roof top carrier for room. There were only 3 of us. We were gone a week. PLENTY of room in that vehicle. So we endured the week with one ripped wiper (which still worked about 80-90%) and one so so wiper.
I'm truly not complaining. We had a great time. Only a few times we actually needed wipers. Just figured you all may get a laugh out of it. Murphy's Law in full effect. 7 months they had been in the back! SEVEN!
