My buddy Tommy and I just finished my whiskey barrel pedestal mount.
I added a pedestal hanger from Full Range Hanging Systems and then mixed up some poly foam to add to top of base, after it dried I took a rasp to it and also cut some sections out to give it some contour and brushed on liquid nails and poked holes to add the foilage and rocks then scattered dried dirt I saved in a bucket. After that we mixed Elmer's glue with water in a spray bottle and sprayed the whole base with it...I repeated that process 4 more times after it dried each time and it hardens up the whole base of loose dirt.
Then we wheeled it in the house and hung the deer on it.
Also full range makes some nice single and double hanging systems for mounts. Allows you to hang 2 mounts close together and position them different ways.
