Thinking about going out today and getting scope and some ammo for the 350...or I could just try and break the curse on the 870. OR I could just take maddys 44 again.

Why change what you know works, just keep hitting em with that hammer 44, just dont wait till their down over a steep hill this time.
I'd really like to get a matching henry 45-70 to my .22 I got this year for squirrels. I was really planning on finally doing it this year but then I gutted the kitchen so that's been expensive. Maybe next year.

That was probably one of my best shots ever on a deer. Man did it smash her hard.

Well fugg. I was going to try out the bushmaster but I'm having issues with the scope rings or the factory mount. I bought new weaver rings. Going to buy another set of rings I guess. Something is definitely not jiving. 1st time firing this gun I bought it last year .44 might get the go ahead again this year.

If they ever legalize shouldered cartridges in Ohio, I’m not sure that I would switch to be honest. The 45/70 is a sweet round, but at the end of the day I just love my Marlin lever action regardless of the caliber.

Down here every lever gun is a 30-30 or 35 marlin. I prefer the 35 in lever but thats just me. Browning makes lever guns in some wicked calibers but they have a price tag thats pretty wicked as well.

I won't try to steer you. Find your own way. BUT. . .this are a few Remington Accutip bullets recovered from deer. Some people want a pass thru with 2 holes. Some people want to see the bullet expand and use all it's energy inside the animal creating an impressive wound channel. In archery: I want two big holes. In shotgun season: I like the thought of two big holes but I'm not changing. I've dropped 2 bucks in their tracks. Apply this info to your knowledge bank and use it however it fits. As stated, not trying to persuade either way. Just some more to ponder (if you haven't already.)

I placed them on the gloves which came with my knife kit. Who uses those? Geesh. 😁
This, the accutips are an amazing round. Shot a lot of deer and pigs down with them but still waiting to see what they do to a bear. My 220 did not like the sst at all but took to the accutips very well. Shooting 2 3/4 inch in mine does amazing at 100 yards and a decent group at 200. Buddy of mine says the 3 inch do much better at 200 but i havent got to try them yet. The expansion and weight retention is spot on. The slug pictured passed through a boars skull and was in the hide on the opposite side.

I am using the Savage M220 Stainless Camo for hunting deer. In my opinion, this gun is perfect for this. I like that it is in camo and can shoot long distances. I found out about it on ballachy.com. I also use a semi-automatic pistol for hunting. My favorite one is the Beretta 950. Many people say that it’s one of the best grips they’ve ever felt on a pistol. This is because it has some great textures. The grip is also slightly curved, making it more comfortable to hold. So it is perfect for me because always have sweaty hands.
