Hey everyone I’m driving to Ohio and I have 2 days to spare for hunting. Any suggestions on some public land that would be worth spending a couple days on? Or even where not to go? I just want to make the best of 2 days and the price of my tag. Thanks a lot.

West side is ideal just because it would be less time in the car more time hunting. But I’m looking for suggestions so I’ll take whatever

Is Wayne National Forest an obvious answer. I know plenty of guys from Pa who have success out there most every year. As for giving you exact roads or GPS coordinations can’t help you there but that’s where I would head.
I am planning on staying near the land I’ll be hunting. North, south or central. Where ever is recommend will be where I go. I literally have never hunted Ohio I am clueless.
I by no means am asking for an exact spot!! (Although I wouldn’t turn one down in a pm haha) Just any area where I wouldn’t be wasting my time due to low deer numbers Or notoriously overrun with unethical hunters slinging lead at everything.

I’d recommend SE Ohio as there are many chunks of public with good access that you could bounce around to try to escape pressure. Also, I’m most familiar with that and have never hunted western Ohio so my opinion is skewed.
NWM? I'm sure a handful of guys would be happy to trade you some hard water info for deer info! I'll give them a chance before suggesting anything.
Motel would be nice but sleeping in my car is always an option. So either way.
I can definitely help with that. I will not be ice fishing this year do to surgery so you can even use my 2man portable shanty and equipment.
Athens OH is near a bunch of public land options - Strouds Run State Park, Wayne National Forest, Zaleski State Forest

There are no deer in SE Ohio.

Hunting Wayne and several private in Athens Co. Doesn’t seem to be this year. Seen does and small bucks in gun season. Already have meat in freezer. I’m holding out as long as I can. Lol.

Wayne National has some great hunting. Probably more so for archery than gun. It gets hit hard then. I would look at AEP/Ohio power or whatever it’s called now in East central Ohio. Morgan and muskingum counties I think. Going in anywhere blind this time of year is a long shot.
