Vintage Reels

I came across some old reels my FIL (95 when he passed) had stored in his garage. Top L to R: Pflueger Pelican 1020 and Freespeed 100 both stamped Akron, Ohio. Bottom are Mitchell 300's stamped made in France. Don't know much about them other than a quick scan on the net. I'd use them but they're left hand retrieve.

I'd be happy to buy all three of the Mitchells if you're truly lookin to sell them for a fair price.

I bought this used one in fair condition at a flee market over the summer for $20.00 and it came with the spare spool, original user manual in the original packaging box.

Mitchells were all I used back in the day throughout the late 70's and early 80's. I have a much newer manufactured Mitchell that I bought about ten years ago, but I still prefer the older ones though.

Now we are talking.. Garcia Mitchell reels were the reel to have back in the day.... I still have numerous Mitchell reels laying around collecting dust.... 300's.. 304's.. 308's..... Here's a 308 on a Garcia Mitchell ultra light Conolon pole... The setup back in the day for stream fishing browns, bookies and rainbows... Ah the memories.... P.S. Just don't mention spinning reels to ' J '... You know those upper class bait casting guru's... :ROFLMAO:

I have my fair share of bait casters. I much prefer the spinning reels and finesse style of fishing…J probably drop shots with a bait caster

My domicile does house a couple spinning reels, some vintage, some modern. One happens to belong too my son…. One I actually own. Haven’t had it in the boat in quite a few years because I can do with baitcasters that I can do with the spinning reel…. I’ll dig them out, when I remember where I had put them when we moved down here 😂

Going to have to give it a go. I like the idea of not having to retie leader a whole bunch
I do use a barrel swivel with the drop shot and whacky and neko rigs. use a fairly small one too lessen the affect of the action of the baits. Usually have about an 18” leader.
