I'll post up high res when I get them later today. Contacted neighbor and he's gonna look as well.

Pretty happy with response time... its rural.

Neighbor said they are selling for $25/oz in Columbus. That means if they have stolen over 2.5# its a felony.

"Theft offenses can fall under misdemeanor or felony charges. If the stolen property's value is more than $1,000, the offense is considered a felony by Ohio law."

Thats not as much wet weight as you think. Anybody recognize these faq-tards pls private message me. Coshocton County.

Yea no camouflage or guns walking on a main gravel road. How do you know they are doing harm here? They don't look to be hiding anything to me. Also not carrying any equipment either. Good luck.

I'll take that as a legitimate question and not you're just trying to be a keyboard cowboy. In other words you indicate they must be doing harm to be wrong or harm. I submit knowingly trespassing is the wrong or harm.

1) they might be concealed carry, permitted or not, a trespass with firearm is a felony. They were trespassing.

2) They climbed over a locked gate or barbed wire fence that goes parallel to the road. It is WELL marked private land/ no trespassing/ hunting etc.

3) No uniform or other 'utility work, I get co-op power guys once or twice a year checking lines. ALWAYS in some uniform - down to caps.

4) That's my "main Gravel Road" 250' from the couty gravel road - across a locked gate. The Oil/Gas folks have their own lock on the gate and they don't walk any further then they have to.

5) this is why I carry 100% on my land, you never ever know what you'll bump into. I've had TSI guys in yesterday after the rain, a water truck on Fri - PLENTY of fresh tracks in the lonesome area to announce someone is back there. They STILL came over the locked gate.

Be well Gern

Electrical workers. Relax. Just some honest working guys trying to make a living.
See Above, Dave I beamed into my live cams on the cabin and other Spartan I have on cabin overwatch. I buried the wire so there is no easement/oblivious comms/power back there.

"Just some honest working guys trying to make a living." My experience is Nope - but that's a theory and as the Carl Sagan quote goes, Interesting theory It'd be shame if someone tested it... so called my co-op customer desk - No employees in that area today, asked them to check with ops manager.

...BUT ... the ops manager just called me back and said they did have guys walking underground today. Asked they flag my account to be notified when there is annual survey. He agreed and said that'd be done.

So he'll also call the county sheriff and get them to pull the photos.

SO in the end these two dudes were doing what they were told and did exaclty what I said, climbed over a locked gate in which I wasn't notified.

I'm about deterrent - I don't mind that the word gets out that within 30m of a POI the sheriff was there and they had photos of suspected perps within 60m. I'll go change the thread title - to reflect.

Be Well @giles thx for the input.

They are in uniform. Long sleeves, tucked in shirt and overboots. I'd put money on it that they are wearing FR clothing. I'm currently wearing the same jeans and just took my boots off. My feet are drenched.

They are searching for a fault. Being that they crossed all that, I'd say it's something serious. We don't walk any further than we have to in them boots.

If it's a locked gate, how did the sheriff get in?

I gave dispatch the lock code for the deputy.

@Jackalope Now now... There were different clothing, different caps, no clipboard and no hardhat...

I accepted my large portion of humble pie but in the end, there's always my sage's tag line, Paul Harvey "the rest of the story" Page... two...

Page two is My neighbor, whom has lots and lots of morels has been getting robbed, i.e. trespassers picking them, about once a week. Their MO is to drop off the trespassers along the county road and then pick up after the pilfering has been done...

IF the stolen morels weren't enough, there is a calling card, an empty Bud Lite can left in the middle of what is his honey hole patch well into his property ...often... in other words, brazen. So we've discussed it, decided zero tolerance. SO the BOLO went out, a theory was presented, followed up on and actions on the objective were remediated.

The thieving trespassers are still out there.

Just for arguments sake let’s say these two were two stupid 20 something year olds trying to make a quick buck, would you really want them to get felonies and ruin the rest of their lives? I could see my 18 year old students doing something like this, not trying to justify and trespassing just giving a hypothetical different point of view I guess

.Intent. That's a weighted factor in our judicial process, as is past 'infractions' with the law.

Two numb-nut 20 somethings students just wandering around picking a couple mushrooms?

Two numb-nut 20 somethings cracked out on opioids, feeding the habit, recon'n the cabin, using mushrooms as the excuse to 'walk'?

Details details.... until they are confronted/apprehended and discovery is made it's all conjecture.

Your point is understood, not dismissed - and to answer in the first case I put above about to 2 stupid kids, nope just the trespass warning, confiscate the mushrooms, that way it's logged in the legal system, if they do it again, there will be recourse to apply a firmer penalty.
