Turkey Article

I wrote out an article for the Ohio Outdoor News subscription and sent it to Mike Moore, the Editor. Much to my surprise, it was published in the recent edition and it was unedited from my original submission. :)
I would be surprised if the Ohio DNR actually made any changes, even though it would cost them zero dollars and has the potential for an improvement on the turkey population....and other wildlife. 🤔 I say this because I mentioned it to a couple of GWs, at the Columbus Expo Center and they said that coons and a number of other animals is already on the "nuisance" list and can be shot on sight. However, any of those animals have to be left where they lay and no benefit can be had from them, such as fur, meat, etc. Despite the statement of that GW, I have yet to find anything in the Nuisance Animal section that allows or mentions shooting. 🙄 Trapping, yes and it says those animals must be humanly dispatched. Sounds like another DNR can of worms. 👎

Anyway....here's a copy of the article.
