Opening day was HOT! I'm glad we decided to watch from the truck. All we seen was hikers. Had a comfortable mobile blind set up. Had a cooler in the back to keep us from getting dehydrated.

Had my first real sit last night. I set a cam....freshed up a scrape in front of it and sat down. Within 10 minutes I had my first customer. From 3-4:30 I had a BB all over in front of me. I had the safety off multiple times. Never put him in the scope.

After that it was the rest of the wildlife that kept me busy just enjoying it. I got up a little early and walked out just to check the fields on the way out. I'm really glad I did! I seen 25-30 deer in my half mile walk! We are going to have a fun year boys. My walk from the point to the truck was nothing but deer. Almost all of them let me walk by in range and didn't bolt. I just kept smiling and walking.

Plenty around this year. Wait for one you want and make memories. We have 4 months, still green beans across the road, cover and more acorns than they could eat. Settle in and enjoy this ride with us TOO! It's gonna get good.

Sat for the first time yesterday morning. Walked in right before shooting light. Made it back about 50yds from the corner of a CRP field about 20 yards in the tree line.

A few minutes after getting setup on the ground I had a Doe with two fawns come out of the CRP. She spent about 10 minutes feeding at about 40 yards then eased off into the big woods. A little later had another doe come screaming by like her ass was on fire. Not sure what spooked her. She came back by a few minutes later and I had tension on the string but she never presented a shot.

Also saw what appeared to be a shooter buck. He slipped by at about 50 yards. Didn't get a good look at the headgear but what I did see looked heavy.

Had a few groups of hikers come by about 9:15 so I packed up and slipped out. Jumped a doe on the way out so in total saw 6 in just a couple hours. Made for a great hunt.

We need some brow tine genetics.

I just can't find the motivation to go this evening. I'd really like to get my buck somewhere new this year. I have some plans in the works to possibly make that happen in 2 weeks. So we shall see! I just gotta try and make it that long without using it. Lol
