Spencie those are some dandy’s! That one with the messed up left side is awesome!

Any history with him? From an injury?

He showed up after gun season. Curious if he will straighten out. The first daylight pic is a buck that had a club sticking straight down past his eye last year.

I seen three big bucks together on the last day of muzzy during the last 30 minutes within 100 yards of my barn & workshop. I believe 'THUNDER' was one of them. Still no TC capture of him yet.

This buck appears to be a newcomer that seems to be sticking around so far. That's a good thing.

The other side of the box blind is a couple dozen fruit trees we planted. Hoping we can get a few to survive and produce by the time the grandkids start hunting. Or when I’m old and feeble.

I’ve had a few stubborn trees over the years that are finally producing. However, my go to is now Stark Bros nursery, out of Missouri. They have trees on b118 root stock and various other disease resistant varieties. I believe I’ve used the Jona Free and enterprise the most often. At age 3, I had them produce their first large batch of fruit. I highly recommend them over others. I also planted a pile of stuff from mossy oak Nativ nursery but it is so small when I got it, the trees are just outside the tubes now and it’s been years!!

beautiful setup you go there buddy.

Spencie, what exactly does "project buck" mean? There ain't no project about those, they're sho nuff shooters. As I type, it dawns on me that "project" may be short for projected shooters?? I read it initially as your "project" is to feed them to make them bigger... I am rambling. I miss deer season. Looks like your are reaping the benefits of years of hard work. Congratulations. Envious for sure.

A "project" buck is one we are trying to let get some age on him. One with good genetics. I have a buddy who won't hunt with me in Ohio anymore (by his choice) because he can't help himself and shot project bucks 3 years in a row...all in the 120ish range. I really enjoy "raising" them and seeing the difference in their bodies and antlers each year. Many times it's ones you don't expect that make the biggest jumps and the most promising ones that come back disappointing. All part of the game. My season is 365 days per year, not just during the harvest season. There hasn't been a day since Thanksgiving 1981 that I haven't put serious thought into deer.
