No yotes today but Cam was happy with 2 big coon. We spent a couple hours this morning freshening up our sets after yesterday’s rain. We added a couple of new sets today as well. We put in dirt hole where we found a groundhog hole in the middle of a bean field with fresh coyote scat.

My bad luck continues.....I convinced a coyote to investigate my flat set but he didn’t want to stick around for the party. My wolf fang earth anchor apparently wasn’t crimped properly and the loop pulled out. I did everything right but still lost out due to failed equipment. I will be checking all of my earth anchors from now on.

That sucks. I can’t seem to catch a break this year either. Hell, I fed one an unlucky rabbit that managed to get caught In a 550 yesterday.

Caught my fair share of rabbits. If your putting down any kind of urine they are attracted to it, plus what ever your trying to catch gets a free meal

Very rarely put down urine. I always seen to get deer stomps with it. About once a year I get a rabbit to trampoline that pan somehow. Most of my pans are 3-4#s as I don’t want rabbits and skunks.
Had a rough week last week. After losing a yote to a faulty earth anchor, the next day I had 5 traps plowed up.....Cam and I got back at it today and put a few sets in the ground. Put out the first hay set of the year. Have done really well with them in the past. Usually use them in the snow but there is a lot of sign along this field change with the plowed field being upwind. The hay is great eye appeal in the dark field.
So close yet so far away. This was in a remake set where Cam caught a fox a couple weeks ago.
With all of the rain, I was aggravated with everything being a muddy mess so we pulled all of our traps 2 weeks ago. On Sunday, Cam wanted to put in a few sets so we got back after it. Yesterday we connected on a yote in a flat set along the edge of a path mowed through a weed field. Today we caught another one in a snare set on a trail running along the top of a ditch.
