Over the years I always had issues with flyers no matter what arrow/head combination I tried. Seemed like I would only get about 8 or so to group together out of a batch of 12. I switched this year to Victory Xbolts which are spine aligned. Problem solved. I’m using regular Muzzy 3 blades, 100 gr. I literally just screwed them on, adjusted my scope and was in business. They all group together and fly like darts.

Heard real good things about the G5 Megameats too. Jenna picked up a pack the other day.
I've always shot slick tricks out of that bow and they shot great but after an new string this year and switching to the lighted knocks I wasn't liking the way it was shooting them for some reason I couldn't get it to group at all. The megameats hit right where the practice head hits so we're gonna find out what they do this weekend hopefully.

Mike, I am convinced that you are the most dedicated and patient man I know when it comes to deer. I am convinced that you will figure this out.
Ha! That can't be farther from the truth. I just don't ever see something that really excites me in Ohio. I might have to lower my standards at some point.

Muzzys are built like a tank....they fly like one too! Once I started shooting over 300 fps, muzzys were obsolete. I shoot 415 fps now and only shoot practice tips into my targets. (Spyder Web Targets are recommended with the speeds we're shooting. Bulldog comes in second jmo. ) I know many do not like them, but I shoot the 100 gr. Rage and even the knock-offs to boot. Last 40 deer shot with them ended up in the freezer.
I will send out a message to Wyvern and see what Flys best out of the Excalibur bows.
yes you sent me some of the knockoff rages and i appreciate it but couldn't get the plastic thing to work.

Then it was backwards. Cup/slits face up. Blades need to be retracted completely as well. ( You might have been distracted from that sick a** meme you posted the other day...🤣)

I'm ready to throw this crossbow over the hill. I have never liked them but was hoping this one would be different. As of right now I won't be hunting this year. I can't get these Muzzy broadheads to group at all. I can't keep shooting because it blows right through the target and rips off the fletching. I have a buddy that uses Muzzy Trocars with his Excalibur and he says they fly great. I guess the next step is mechanical broadheads which I have never had luck with. Can anyone suggest something other than Rage......they will never get any of my money again.
Wyvern suggested NAP Killzone. If your choice doesn't do what you want.

Newbie question. My dad just got his Wicked Ridge Invader 400. The bolts are what cam with it. About 12 shots with this bolt. Shooting into a Yellow Jacket bag.

What has caused this "situation" with the nock?! It appears to be rolling at the back of the shaft.

Shoot a couple more bolts and see if this is an issue with them. If so take them back and ask for replacements. Might as well bring the xbow as well and have them check the setup.

New one on me. How old is the bow? Glennas nocks look like yours without the colored part.

The bow was bought direct from Ten Point. It wasn't sold as "new" but they assured him it was gone over by their techs and gave him the full warranty. It may have been a demo model or something along those lines. 2 shots and the spring pin that mates the crank handle to the gear mecahism fell out (AcuDraw) rendering that useless until we fixed it. It did fall out again after the last shot. And now that nock issue noone has seen before! They were brand new bolts that shipped with it. Something tells me this is a bow issue but I have only shot a crossbow 3 times in my life and it was today so I have nothing to compare it to! I know for sure it was the last shot because I was inspecting the bolt thoroughly after every shot. I was running out to retrieve it.

Wow, I’d call or email them and let them know you’re not happy. I’ve always had a good experience when I talked too them. They’ll make it right.

YES... Get ahold of them. We had a nock issue couple years ago. Was supposedly fixed....😡
We got some free nocks out of the issue.....

Stupid question, but is it possible that the nock wasn't seated all the way back on the rail? Seems like the nock got hammered in like a nail?
It is possible. We were going over what happened pre shot and post loading. I think he had aimed the bow down before the shot so the bolt may have dropped from being seated fully against the string. Thats the only thing we can come up with. Damn newbies...

If that is one of the styles with the brushes to hold the bolt. That part can be replaced very easily.
