Always loved big trees! Looking at the flowers on the forest floor in your pic I noticed you brought refreshments for tree viewing. Bud light lol?

Lady slippers are in bloom again...they are endangered and have been blooming every spring since I’ve owned the property. I know of another property that I used to turkey hunt that has at least a dozen of these that I would stumble across every spring, until the property changed hands and I lost permission to hunt it. I’m guessing they are still there as it’s a wood lot next to a farmers field.

Wife took this pic today along our driveway. She said she wanted to intervene but knows this is nature’s way. Don’t know if there were any birds in there but I know there is a vacancy after today.
Dudes just trying to stay warm I reckon. Bet that dude stays pretty warm in the evenings unless it drops too low.

Evidently it’s still breeding season for snappers in our area. We’re chillin on our front porch and Tam says, OMG.....is that a turtle crossing our driveway? I jumped up and went to grab it’s tail and put (her, I’m assuming) in the back of my truck.

Then the next morning Karissa looks out the bathroom window to the side yard near my truck and says, “Dad! The turtle got out!” Nope, this one(male I’m also assuming, and bigger) was just outside my truck with the other one still in truck bed. I figured the female scent trail was still fresh and brought him in on a string! Lol

I've never smelled a candle, spray, or perfume that's came close to replicating the smell of a real magnolia in full bloom.

Sort of funny magnolia story. I was at work one day and went outside to walk the parking lot with a coworker. As we looped around the back I caught the smell of a magnolia bloom, but it wasn't quite right. I had never seen a magnolia tree in Ohio so I just thought to myself that I must have been mistaken. As we looped back around I smelled it again and stopped. I was looking everywhere for a big green tree and there wasn't one. She asked what I was looking for and I told her I smelled a magnolia but a crappy one. She just looked at me and pointed to a bush with small purple and white flowers on it and said "Theres a magnolia right there" I walked over to smell it. Sure as shit it smells somewhat like a magnolia but the leaves weren't the same as a real magnolia tree, and the flowers weren't even close. I stood there for a completely dumbfounded, what kind of ornamental cross bred Chinese fuckery is this.
