Went and caught about 500 grass shrimp down at the Delaware bay earlier this afternoon. The white perch prefer them a lot more then blood worms. Going fishing tomorrow morning but with this cold weather, I don’t expect we will catch a lot. Supposed to be warmer Saturday...if the fishing still doesn’t heat up by then, I’m going to wait a week of so for the water temps to warm up a bit. When the fishing is hot, you can get a 25 fish limit in about an hour with a lot of doubles on a top and bottom rig. The net pick was one sweep with the net! Only took about 20 minutes to get all the bait we’ll need for several fishing trips!😊

Heck of a jug run last night. We ended up catching between 25-30 fish total. Released a couple in the 20lb range and several small fish. Kept 15 for the freezer mostly nice blues with a few smaller channel cats. They wanted live bream last night. Still can't believe we didnt have a flathead show up with as many bream as i had drifting. Most were already spawned out but still lethargic. Water down here took a steep dip in temperature slowing everything back down. None the less we had a great time on the water.

I snuck out for an hour and change on Saturday before the rain hit because the river was borderline good on the gauges. Since I've started tracking the CFS on the USGS online gauge, this is the fastest flow I've fished and had success on crappies. Weird bite, though. Fish were sitting really deep, it took several depth adjustments on the indicator to get on them. Nothing huge but came close to double figures in short time.

This was the fly pattern I was using, but I was using chartreuse/white on Saturday.
