Non resident land owners hunt for free?

If you are a non-resident land owner in Iowa, you still have to enter the non-resident drawing to even get an any-sex tag. So therefore some landowners may not draw a tag to hunt their land for several years. Unless you know the loop holes, like getting a doe tag (different allotment) and having a willing Iowa resident who will party hunt with you during one of the shotgun seasons and allow you to fill their any-sex tag.

Pretty much the same in Kansas.. I own a house out there but still have to enter the draw system as a non-resident

What is keeping you from claiming Kansas as your state of residents, I will probably buy land in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan and claim that as my main residents years down the road (only residents can bear hunt there). Several variables will go into this decision -Ohio non resident hunting laws, Ohio land availability, price etc.

I started to do that but didn't have all my paper work and then the heart surgery so I just haven't been able to get back and get it done. Didn't have time during the spring turkey trip to do it.. maybe this fall.

I like the idea of NR with property in Ohio should be able to hunt there property free if residents can. I don't think you should need to have more then 5 acres. that's plenty to kill a deer on. But even as a NR I think you should have to get a NR license to hunt other properties.
I also think since there raising NR licenses that they should have raised resident licenses to. And I know for a fact that the NR fee raise will keep people from out of state from hunting Ohio. I have brought friends for Michigan down to hunt that couldn't afford the old price. Theres no way there gonna pay the new price. Just to hunt a few days.

It boils down to a state should take care of it's own residents who live in the state full time. If a NR wants to come to the state to play and enjoy themselves then pay for it.
It seems every other states treat their full time residents and NR's this way. Why shouldn't Ohio?

NR owning 5 acres or leasing 5 acres? I have yet to see non residents pay any attention to boundry lines with no hunting signs. Even when they are dragging a film crew with them.
Its simple, these invaders should have a Ohio Drivers License and proof they are paying Ohio Stat4 Income Tax.

Owning. And for the record it makes no difference to me if they do this or not. And please don't paint that picture that all NR cross property lines. We have much respect for our neighbors and never cross the line without permission. We get along with all our neighbors and enjoy spending time in there hunting camps with them. They don't care that were from Michigan. They actually like it because were not down there pressuring the area all the time. It must be different in the areas you hunt then in our area for you to call us invaders. I'm sure if you were near us that you would not have a problem. If you would then you must be a hater. Its not like were from Iran.

Invaders!! Haha. I have to replace no trespassing signs every year because the locals want to fish my pond and hunt for yellow root. I guess they feel that if they live there, then all of the land is theirs. Residents tresspass too, not just non residents. I served in the military...not to defend just my home state, but our entire country, which last time I checked, included Ohio. I own land in Ohio and pay taxes on it....I think I should be allowed to hunt in a state other than my "home" state without being required to have an Ohio drivers license or paying Ohio stat4 income tax.

Crooks are crooks, pouchers are pouchers, and tresspassers are tresspassers. Just the way it is but thankfully they are in the minority but puts a black eye on everyone.
