So we were waiting for this camera to come out as Moultrie was touting it as their best camera ever, loaded with all kind of great things... Plain and simple.... WORST CAMERA IVE EVER OWNED.... DONT BUY ONE.... Missed pics when animals were right in front of it... Total white out photos both night and day... Battery life sucks... Bought 2 and both were returned...

Dang. My buddy just bought a couple. I was going to follow suit and join him on the Moultrie band wagon.

My cameras had issues with dawn, dusk and some night pics being near totally white. Moultrie was upfront about the issue and put out a firmware update last week that has corrected it. The videos I have captured seemed catch the animal early in the detection area.

New dusk video is much better. This would have been a white screen before the firmware update.

These turkeys are kind of close to the camera but it did pick them up early enough.

Curious. Were you able to do any firmware updates prior to sending them back ? I didn't know it until now, but i read were these only operate on verizon network. On another note, one of my X6000's has been out all year & it's been a true workhorse. Cabela's has them on clearance for $78

Dave, if you're asking me, I do recall having some goofy issues with my Lifts now that I think about it. Just the same, they all came around & made it thru the season. My best guess it was a bad batch of battery issue. All my cell cams have been great.

I was referring to Rich. Seems like he had this same issue last year or a similar situation. Now that I'm typing, I think it was a cell service issue.

3 of us bought them... My friend put his out day he got it and the other 2 of us waited to see how it did... He said all of the problems I stated above, so we returned ours unused... His is still out and things have not improved even though Moultrie said they did firmware updates....So who knows things may improve... Spartan cams seem the most reliable....

Dave... Your correct, it was cell service... I purchased 2 Spypoints ( one Verizon and the other AT&T )... Neither had service where I wanted to put them...

I absolutely love my stealth cams. Not the greatest of quality of pictures through the app. but they work, they’re sub 140 bucks and I have had zero issues with function since last year when these stealth cam fusions came out. I have 4 of them. IMO great bang for your buck

Bruh. It's Moultrie. Best known for being one step above Allen and Wal-Mart quality. I hate to hear that you're having trouble, but I'm also not surprised.

Just to clarify… did your buddy actually download and install the firmware update(s)? Or no?

Was talking to him yesterday... Said he was going to replace batteries and download the firmware update... So let's see if this helps, I'll post the results for all to know...
Right on.

A lot of times, these new cameras hit the market and there are bugs to work out. It’s not uncommon for a required firmware update right out of the gate. Hopefully that’s the case here and the problems will be resolved. I’m not defending Moultrie at all because, as Joe said, they’re a bottom-tier camera in general and this is par for the course.

I agree... Moultrie announced this camera and said it would be out early this year and seemed to keep moving the date further into year... Evidently there were some issues... IMO Spartan is still the best cellular camera out there...

This Spartan has been out in Illinois now for 3 years, other than changing the batteries it doesn't miss a beat...

@Fletch - posted this up on another thread earlier but I'm running the REAKTOR with my two spartans as well and no batteries dying. I put 12 Lithium's in the spartan in case I get a long cloudy spell but I run the Spartans on Pic+Vid send on trigger and two pic sends a day to verify they're working. The REAKTOR come with cables A thru E so it's a snap to plug in just use Power Cable C to the Spartan... for what it's worth - I have five of these Browning/CellLink's out with REAKTOR's as well - in deep woods etc and they're getting enough juice to keep both powered. No failures on the 7 REAKTOR's in over a year - NO NEW BATTERIES either.

Did you use flex conduit to stop the squirrels from chewing the cables or are they varmit proof?
