If you're asking the police to get involved in a private matter over people that willingly entered a tournament...where does it stop? What law was broken? They put weights in fish. If you enter a 50/50 do you know who is drawing the ticket? There could be swindling going on. You willingly gave your $. Nothing was stolen.

Its little things like this that gives the state and government implied power. It is a private tourney, deal with it accordingly. The last thing we need in this country is more laws, regulations, and government involvement. Its like crying to your parents as a child when your sibling steals a toy. The police would only get involved if it became violent. Man up and deal with it. No need for anything further.

I can agree with that. Thanks for the different angle of thought.

As a fisherman from Florida that has fished dozens and dozens of tournaments I think this will get attention for quite a while but I think all the things suggested above in the comments won’t happen. Idk anything about this walleye tournament but the worst thing to come from these guys will more then likely be loss of sponsorship and banning from this tournament. Stuff like this happens all too often and ever since this mainstream media push has happened it has practically ruined most outdoor sports. Nobody has pride anymore and it’s all about dollar signs and whoever has the nicest stuff! I say, hang these fuckers!! Let them know it all over the country! But I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I sadly think this is accurate. This Fuckers will never get what they deserve, at least in regards to legal punishment. Same for most poachers.

It depends on what the laws are in Ohio whether it is against the law or not. In many states it is. Also I believe the $$ value of the tournament could make it more serious. Again that depends upon the law in Ohio.

Either way those guys are done both professionally and personally as this whole thing went public big time.

these guys will never see any criminal charges and the sad thing is they will still be fishing plenty of tournaments in Ohio. Just maybe not that specific one. It’s a shame, but it’s the way it is… This would be a totally different story if these were some of the elites. But they’re not. They’re just pee ons and like I stated before, this type of shit happens much much more often than we think and goes completely untouched… Again, I hate what the sport of fishing has turned into…. ABSOLUTE SHIT SHOW

Hardly peons....they won over 300 grand last year alone...name some pros who won more than that... their names are tarnished forever. I dont look to see them in ANY fishing tournaments anywhere after this debacle.
Well from the sound of it they cheated their way to 300 grand last year. And have been cheating for a very long time… who’s to say they’re not pee ons?

Ok so I’m new here. This story is insane. I watched the entire video. I watched the other fishermen have their fish weighed and walk away. My question;? Was something off about the combined weight of these fish to challenge it? It was a great call to open these fish!!!
Yes people were heard saying that fish was alot bigger than theirs and it doesn’t weigh as much

I hate the blending of contests (with BIG money) and anything wildlife related. These things eventually happen and it tarnished the community of anglers or hunters involved.

Small, local events with a few prizes and bragging rights doesn’t bother me as much, and they’re actually fun. Nobody is making money, and they participate more for the fun of the community versus money or notoriety.
