In an effort to bring this to the forefront and not buried in a thread please sign the below petition to keep a the Ohio coyote season open and not require the purchase of a further permit.

It was recently sent to the Ohio wildlife counsel as a proposed regulation change to run the coyote season inline with that of fox and close it the remainder of the year. It was also requested that people trapping and shooting coyotes should be required to purchase a fur taker permit.

Please not only sign the petition but also share it on your social media pages.

Also. If anyone knows the "Dan Webster" who created the petition, please reach out to me.

Just saw on the internet that Ohio scrapped the changes for the coyote season for this year....said they needed more studies/input.
I heard it was "paused" aka tabled, and that they will likely resubmit a new proposal this summer. Not completely scrapped, or at least not for now. Good to hear that public comment was taken into consideration for the time being.

paused/tabled = resubmit same proposal in middle of summer when nobody is paying attention. less backlash this way. ODNR has proven time and again with their actions that sportsman's input means practically nothing to their policy making.
