This past September my brother and me made the trip to Kansas again. The first couple of days we passed on some 130"ish 8pts. Wednesday morning I spotted this buck heading back to bed. He made it into a plum thicket 215yds from us and laid down for 3hrs. We waited him out and I shot him at 194yds as he was walking to get under a tree for some shade, my brother by my side. Huge body and a ton of character,16 scorable points and decent mass. He's at the taxidermist right now.
Bro ended the week on the second to last evening when he walked up on this 13pt 150+ buck on his way back to the truck. Great hunt with my brother and can't wait for this September again.
Last one is our buddy that lives out there. 180+ non typical during the rut. Kansas, where dreams are made. If you ever get the chance, head to Kansas.

NICE! I was wondering how you did this year. How did Ohio treat ya? Also looks like you’ve dropped a few pounds!

Thanks for swinging by to share the story.

Ohio wasn't as kind. Missed a decent buck my first day of vacation. Nothing but dinks after that.
No pounds lost. Lol. Just age making everything saggy. [emoji846]
It looked like almost everyone on TOO had a successful season. Congrats to all.

Bummer. What set up are you running? That’s a hell of a poke with a smoke pole.
100gr of blackhorn pushing a 250gr powerbelt out of a CVA Grizzly, I believe. One of my brothers guns.
