Turkey season started this weekend in Tennessee. Me and my brothers will be going down this year together. This will be our first out of State trip with all 3 of us hunting together my plan Is to try to get them a bird before I do. My buddies down there have a few using the same areas they usually do and it looks like the weather is going to be great. It's been a pretty busy spring so far with work and the kids both getting ready to start playing ball so this may be about the only time I get to chase some birds this year. They said the birds have been pretty quite so far but I hope it changes with the weather warming up this week. I'll try to keep this updated throughout the year even tho I usually forget about it.

Good luck....Birds have been quite around us as well, except for today..... Train off in the distance got a gobbler started who wasn’t too far away.... I couldn’t resist and pulled out the call and started screwing with him. He popped out a couple times as I was sitting on the front porch, but once he saw the dog it was game over

We left ohio at 330 Tuesday morning and were in the woods by 11. Didn't have much going on that day. We drove around and made sure we could still hunt some of the farms that we like to hit. It's a good thing we did because we found the main place we hunt that is loaded with birds sold. I tracked down the owner yesterday after we sat across the road and watched 5 birds strut where we wanted to be. Turns out he's a super good guy and told us to have at it. Yesterday I flat out missed a big Tom at about 30 yards he had his head tucked moving through the saplings and I flat out missed. I can honestly say I've never done that before on a turkey with a shotgun. But anyhow my brothers sat this morning on the property we got the OK to hunt and I went to where I missed that bird yesterday. The woods was on fire today I bet we heard 10 or 11 different birds between us and they gobbled all day but the Tom's just would break up from the hens. My youngest brother ended up getting his first out of state bird a Jake and I ended up, getting a bearded hen. So far it's been a memorable trip and a few more days to connect again. My other brother is in the hottest until he gets one now.

It's time to switch gears to deer hunting. A couple weeks ago we went to ky and got our food plots in the ground went with some eagle soybeans and some real world soybeans. Luckily we have made some friends down there and got a guy to drill them for us so the all we had to really do is mow them down and spray them. I've got 6 cameras out now and it's looking like it might be a pretty good year ,for getting pictures anyways.

The cameras are showing some pretty good bucks and with the crop rotation on these farms this year I'd say early season could be really good.

Spent last week with the family in South dakota and Wyoming doing the tourist thing. I've never been that far out west if you guys have never been make a plan to go see it. It's a long drive and alot of tourist traps but we'll worth it. Wyoming is absolutely loaded with deer. When we left devils tower I bet we seen 60 deer before getting back into South dakota. Got back Sunday and threw some more cams up around here. I'm expecting some pics soon of a giant if we didn't bump him to hard when we went into hang the cam.

Also headed back to ky to pull spray the food plots and get some more cams up down there next weekend. September will be here before we know it.

A couple more updates got the bean plots sprayed in ky last weekend and some more cams up. No real big deer there yet but we seen a couple giants glassing the bean fields below our property.

Now I'm getting excited for season. 1 month until kentucky. It's been pretty slow down there but we have had a few decent ones come thru that will be hard to pass If in velvet still. We need some rain bad on our plots down there. Here's a few updates from ohio and ky. The stealth cam is ky. The 2 crazy racked bucks are definitely father and son as I passed the bigger one 2 years ago on opening weekend. I will prolly shoot him if given the chance this year.
