I want to do some trout fishing over in PA in the streams. Can any y'all point me in the right direction? Probably looking to go with a guide.
How far are you looking to drive into PA? Fly fishing or spin reel?
I wouldn't pay for a guide... I grew up flyfishing central PA... yellow springs, spruce creek and the little juniata, then moving further east to flyfishers paradise, spring creek, yellow breeches, and big spring. Mostly nymphs, eggs and streamers right now tho, I'm outta the loop on hatches, other than this spring when I moved back, I haven't fly fished since I graduated and left the state.
shoot I wouldn't be able to help you on the spinning reels, the streams we fished were flyfish only... I'd do some research on the major rivers that run through here or the bigger limestone streams, trout are typically a bit larger in the big rivers and are more prone to nailing a rooster tail.
Or just wait till April and fight the crowds and fish the stocked trout, you'll catch a dozen a day but you'll be elbow to elbow with every other guy in PA.
Sorry I wasn't much of a help!
You could always go earn it. Learn like a normal person and invest more time then money. Youtube how to fly fish or how to tie flies. You might learn something you enjoy that really doesn’t cost much money.
Then find a creek and get after it! The satisfaction level is way beyond anything money can buy. I’ve been on charters/guided trips, that isn’t what I look for in an experience. True enjoyment is doing the research and learning. Not writing checks.
Nope.. not going to happen... I have way more interest in chasing big offshore fish in the Atlantic than I do chasing bait in a stream.. but, it is something I would like to do.. probably once, so investing long drives and weekends to do it is not going to happen. But, if you know of a guide in the PA area, I would be thankful for that help.
There are spots in Ohio you can go. Not sure where you live but you can look them up on odnr website.
Didn’t your daughter take you out somewhere last year? Seems I vaguely remember a post, Father’s Day maybe?
Just Google Ohio trout fishing riversI'm close to the New Philly area
You need to start a thread for just that. I’m sure lots of us would enjoy following along and learning. Time of year for fish is always something I wanted to learn more about. Off shore fishing is in my retirement plan. My wife loves heat and beaches, she can hang out on shore, I’ll go fishing.
Seriously, make a thread and share! Give TOO something.
I'll start a J1M Fishing 2018 thread and will update with my fishing adventures of 2018.. how's that?

If you wanna do guided, this is the private section of the stream I grew up fishing, a freaking awesome stream! Pres Carter and Eisenhower used to fish this stream.
It is fly fishing only though but it's super easy to pick up on especially if you have a guide, give them a call. Great restaurant in the area toO!
Thanks,,, Looks nice... BUT, Is there any place you can catch these fish and EAT them??? Everything I see is catch and release only
Just wait till PA trout season opens up in april, they stock the shit out of the streams, you'll catch fish all day and if you going during the week there won't be as many people.
