I went down a rabbit hole of his today. I really like most of his content.

In one of his podcast he was talking about how he has changed the gene pool in his neighborhood. 120 acres and he takes 5-8 bucks a year off it. All 3 years old or older. Mostly 8 points. Keeping the 10 points to breed.

I've preached this for years. Deer hunters are the worst for shooting ourselves in the foot. We only seem to want to kill the best of the best. Not wanting to mess up the area or let anyone else hunt, it leaves the shit bucks to do the breeding.

I shot this old sorry thing with a muzzle loader a few years ago same spot, he was full of tumors and teeth were rotted, is skull cap is twice a thick as anything else I have, no belly sag looked similar to that one above

He's a lot like Sturgis and speaks in absolutes most of the time and I tend to disagree with how critical he is of the aging process via photos. I agree wholeheartedly with the second part of the segment, however.
