Got a good one this morning

Sgt Fury

Sgt. Spellchecker
Tagged out here in NJ this morning at 10:30 am. Called him in from about 250 yards away. He was with two hens and they actually came to the call and he followed, gobbling at every Yelp I made. The hen came into under ten yards and got nervous, but didn’t spook. He came in from about 20 yards to the right of the hens....last 50 yards he went silent. It was pretty thick with blueberry bushed bit we picked the most open spot to shoot. I dropped him at about 20 yards. Got a couple pellets in the breast but most of the damage was to the neck where it meets the breast. It was very thick and that was all that I could see....his head and neck. He ended up weighing 18.6 lbs, which is pretty light for an old Tom. He had a 10 7/8” beard and 1 3/8” spurs.
