That bow is older than a lot of the members on here... Definately high tech with "Cat Whiskers"... "Berger Button"... and a "Flipper 2 Arrow Rest"...... In the long run throw in a pair of blue jeans, plaid shirt and it killed deer just as dead as today's high tech camo, scent free soaps etc.... And in the end your bank account hasn't been drained on gimmick items....

My brother started with a stick bow, then recurve, then went to the bear whitetail. I was the lucky one too garner the hand me downs 😂
My first compound was a PSE titan. A whopping 30% let off @65lb draw weight 😂 Back then you set the Weight at what felt comfortable, no one had a scale other than a archery shop. Just made sure the top and bottom screws were adjusted the same 😂

My first season I used a recurve that my dad had. No idea what it was. The next season (1982) I had a Darton 40B that I used for almost 10 years. Followed that up with a Darton Trailmaster in 1991ish. Then a High Country Vmax in 1997. In 2007 I bought a Reflex Grizzly. 2014 I started using a Prime Defy.
Oldness caused me to go to the Excalibur Suppressor 400 this year.
I was never a guy to switch equipment regularly.

Used recurves to plink at stuff for years before my first compound that was a Browning Bantam, 1976-1988, 1989ish I picked up a Browning Vortex. Current bow is the Browning Verado that I got in 2010.

Now remember if you are old enough, there weren't many WTD in the state of OH until a big increase around 2000.

The graph just shows the gun hunters adding another gun(crossbow) to hunt in the archery season over time, but reflects the WTD population in TOO since I picked up a bow - so many more deer than 45 years ago.
