Brock story: At a 3d shoot some years ago sponsored by another outfit guys were standing around the practice target with their compounds takeing turns shooting. Brock walked up with his trad bow took his turn and drill the bulls eye dead center. There were shots of Lucky And stuff. Brock asked "want to see another" and put a second arrow right next to the first arrow. Guys mumbled some stuff and drifted away onto the course - dang

Ha. Must of been a good day, Dan. 😁. All I remember from those shoots was a steel target deal we were doing with compounds. It got down to me and a girl that was a Mathews pro. We were out to 60 yards or something and shot a couple rounds before I caught the edge of the steel and lost to that kid. Every one of those men, friends and enemies alike, made fun of me for losing to a girl! It made no difference that they had all lost to that girl as well, and long before I did! Lol. That kid could shoot a bow. I don’t think she shoots anymore but her dad does and is still a senior pro. Good folks. Win, lose or draw, I like almost everyone I’ve gotten to know through archery.

Mason story: another 3d deal or maybe the steel plate day, anyway i left a arrow in the last target it had geezer written on one of the vanes. I was sit n in the big tent with Coonskinner and Brock walked in with Mason and handed me the arrow. Mason was just a little kid and walked up to me and said "I want that arrow" I gave it to him and Brock said later that Mason shot the hell out of it for a couple weeks - good ole days lol

Go out and kill that hoss you got on cam. If you pull a couple stitches it will add to the memories!

My brother had a stem cell transplant from a matched unrelated donor where they nuke your immune system then plant the T cells from the donor to repopulate your immune system over time. He had non-hodgkins lymphoma. The doctors about passed out when he went back for a check up and told them about the deer he shot and then gutted and dragged out by hand. He told them that right after they told him if he kept on progressing as well as he was he might be able to resume normal activities in 4 to 6 weeks, like return to work part time. He laughed and said he never quit working!

When I read about you I can't help to be reminded of him, Brock!

He actually fought with Social Security who told him he was permanently disabled due to his condition and he wanted them to take their money back!

Ha. Funny stuff. If there is something to drag, I’ll be the guy walking for the truck. I’ve gutted and dragged more than enough for him, he won’t mind doing one for me at all. 😁

Mason and I made it out this morning. I think we executed a well thought out plan perfectly. Unfortunately, I did not know the landowner had started clearing the entire south end of the woods yesterday of honeysuckle. There doesn’t seem to be a deer left on the farm. Lol. Doesn’t matter, the anticipation is usually better than reality anyway.
Mason pulled my hang on stand and cams for me. My favorite rut property is put away for at least another year. Maybe next year I’ll shoot one there too.

Do you know who's doing the work? I'd like to get mine done and can't find the time or motivation.
