Finally giving my arrow selection the attention it deserves after servicing my bow and dialing up the poundage this year. Had a few 400 spine easton aftermaths left and they just aren’t consistent. After putting the slowmo camera up, I saw what a disaster these are at 72lbs and immediately went back tho TBones arrow build videos.

I do think I will upgrade to the sirius apollos next year in 300, but I lucked in to some Maxima Triads 300 spine with the insert/outsert. Cut to length on my tile saw (which works perfectly btw, if you have one don’t buy an arrow saw). Since the insert/outsert was already installed and wanting a to upgrade the fletchings to tac vanes, I pulled the

Shot the vanes off some of the quikfletch and really enjoying the arrow tinkering and learning more about making it efficient for what I want to do. Picked up a Bitzenburger while waiting for the vane master pro to be delivered. Brought me down to 536 grains once the 2.75” tac vanes were on. Fly true and lots of fun. Little slow though, probably need to upgrade the bow at some point.

Update this after you've put these through some animals. I'm shooting the CE Maxima Red SD's currently, but have thought about getting a half dozen of these to build for next season.

Man! Super glad you didn't have an accident with those 400s. Like MILO said they were a ticking time bomb. Blow one of those new arrows through a deer and let us know how they do. At that grain weight they shouldn't have an issue.

They zip through shit, i’m 2/2 on pass throughs with schwacker 100gr 2”. I know the weird pig dude would say but a spear tip on the end of them but I like the mechanics of the schwackers. Simple, fly like a field point and are conducive to penetration in my opinion. I have them down to 538 grains by switching from quikfletch to tac vanes. I’m sold.

Any issues with breaking shafts at the inserts or anything? Live game or otherwise?
No issues, in fact the two pass throughs are the same arrow and both involved shoulder and the second one came out of the deer in thick stuff so had every opportunity to break it.

i did take the knock ring off to reduce weight in the back, unrelated to your question but not sure i mentioned that. Seems pointless to me.
