Saw a little bump in activity last night. Had 2 decent bucks hit the scrape in the Corner Pocket. The stud 3-year old came out of the doe bedding area and proceeded to bump the does off the plot, then came back on their trail a few minutes later. That was at midnight, then he was back at 6A. At 3:45, a big 4-year old 8 that lives on the farm south of us, came into the plot to work that scrape. That was 20 minutes after a small buck ran two young does off the plot. Solid sequence of events compared to the past several days.

Does visiting scrapes pretty regularly now.

Saw 7 different bucks in 2.5hrs last night along with a 60ish pound fawn alone. If there is a hot doe, I want to see the buck in the corn that had the other boys just hanging out in the shadows. Some of the younger bucks were in pairs. Others just lost. None with their tongue hanging out and acting rut crazed. They exited west to standing corn. I walked out to the south with cut beans and 5 does feeding without being harassed. I'm certain there are does being bred, but a bit confused as to what I saw. Couple young ones taking turns rubbing a tree. A third showed up when they left and bedded by that tree.

Here is your current 6 45 am weather conditions in the following countys in ohio- paulding van wert mercer defiance williams. Patchy dence fog will impact rut visability from most roadways for most of the morning. Use caution when attempting to look for deer. Impacts- visability is less than one quarter mile bucks seeking chasing and locked down will not been seen unless near or on road right of ways....going to be a boring drive to work again today

Still nothing during daylight. Right at the end of legal shooting or an hour or so later. Slight cold front moving in next week. We’ll see if that stirs anything up….

I'm seeing a lot of chasing goin on @theotherfarm. I'll be setting up Sunday afternoon, then hunt that evening, which will be my first hunt of the season, then for rest of the week if needed.
