The first week of November the weather was warm but my camera's were lit up with nice mature buck movement in the middle of the day from Halloween till the 4th. But with all my wisdom I worked that week and didn't hunt. Lol I arrived on the 6th and for the next ten days I seen very little daytime movement until the 15th when action started picking up! On the 16th I seen three nice mature bucks almost getting a shot off just before dark. The following morning I was back in the same stand. A beautiful oak covered flat that's about 100 yards by 50yards with young beech trees mixed in with scrapes under most of them. Two more mature bucks spotted that morning but out of range and would not respond to my calls trying to bring them closer. Headed for lunch at 12:30 and spotted a really good buck heading up the hill from my truck. Sneaking back to the same stand about 2:30 I blow a young 8pt off the scrape in front of my stand. Once in my stand I'm just enjoying the nice evening as I start chatting on the phone with Gilies and a couple other guys that hunt on the ARC land. At 4:20 with my phone in hand typing away I must have heard something as I look to the SE he's at 60 yards and coming fast. Nose on the ground looking like the classic bird dog in search of sent. I struggle getting my phone quickly in my pocket and my bow in my hand. I think he's going to come into the scrapes 15 yards in front of me but he stays behind them moving away. Knowing he's leaving at about 70 or so yards from me and behind some large tree I let out a soft Snort wheeze. He stops and looks my way for maybe 5 or 10 seconds then starts going on his way. I hit him with another wheeze stopping him in his tracks. He then turns and starts my way. Covering ground quick I realize he's in my range slightly quartering into me at slow walk now he steps out from a large tree as I see a opening focusing on jus behind but tight on the front leg my arrow is on its way. My arrow slices though his rib cage then he explodes down the hill. Nothing like the feeling of knowing you have just made a killing shot! He piled up about 100 yards down hill. It all happened faster then I can tell it. I pulled out my phone and told my friends I had just killed a nice buck. Moments earlier we were texting lol. God I love bowhunting and sweet November

I was gonna post the pics of all my family's and friends bucks but I'll just post mine and the kids. Looking back it was a season that will be hard to top. 19 bucks shot this year in our group I'll try to do a write up on the whole season when I get time.
