    Duck abuse?

I came across this guy today at Kokosing Wildlife Area while hunting for squirrel/rabbit...either someone left it there accidentally, which I doubt, or someone took it illegally and left it for waste...which really pisses me off. Too much of this.

Does DNR cater more to farmers than hunters/fishermen?

I've noticed at many state wildlife areas that farmers who lease lands on these properties are basically given carte blanche when it comes to their agricultural practices. The first thing I notice is the fact that they are allowed to grow soybeans, which are--as we all know--completely worthless...

How to identify a meth lab in the woods

I posted this link on another thread and thought it would be a good idea to start a new one. I want to thank @Qback for bringing this issue up. We need to be aware of the items that might indicate a meth lab while we are out in the woods hunting, especially with children in tote...

Wildlife Officers...exactly what is it they do here in Ohio?

I'm just curious as to what the context of a wildlife officers job is here in Ohio. I live in Knox County and there are two wildlife areas, Kokosing Reservoir and Knox Lake. The few times I have talked to the wildlife officer that covers the county, Michael Budd, about the concerns I have had...

    Delaware pheasant "hunting"

Got out to Delaware this morning for the released pheasants...and as a previous poster told me it would be, it was packed to the gills with people. Met and talked to some cool people, sure, but overall it was a complete shit-show out there. I couldn't walk 100 ft. without running into another...

Pheasant releases at Delaware State Park today

Hey everyone...I see they are releasing a few hundred pheasant at Delaware today, and the hunting starts tomorrow...and have already released hundreds for the youth hunts there. Does anyone know exactly where they release them, or is that pretty much kept "confidential?" I would imagine it would...

    Migrating Doves moving through?

Hey all...so I have been keeping an eye out for the migrating doves, and I think they are finally starting to roll through. I was out at Kokosing Wildlife Area today and saw at least three groups of a dozen or more per group flying around the corn field on the north side of the lake, and feeding...

    A-Holes at Kokosing State Park

Just wanted to let everyone know...they guy who leases the cropland within Kokosing State Park thinks it is okay to drive his gator around the park and collect walnuts and scare all the wildlife away. He said he had every right to do that...but his activity had nothing to do with the cropland he...

Dove Hunting in and around Knox county

Hey all... I've been hitting the fields at Kokosing State Park in Knox county and have not seen too many doves so far. Any doves that I have seen are likely resident birds, and even those are far and few between. Has anyone else had these results? I've seen a few and taken a few shots that I...
