Guys!!! I got my bow!

Has anyone ever hunted in Dorset? That's the closest to me.

I think there might be a couple near me, but I'll keep that place in mind when I go looking. Now question, what happens if I can't find private land? Is public land usually busy and hard to hunt on?

The questions are perfectly okay, and no, i dont know anyone that could mentor me. I have not found a job out here yet. And no i have never shot a bow before but i have been reading a lot about it. Which i know its different than actually doing it.

Oh well i do have a .22 i can use. But im not sure its something i want to do as of right now. Especially since im not sure id like it.

I have never had squirrel. Is it really gamey? What would you hunt squirrel with?

Im in Ashtabula County. In Pierpont.

I would normally agree with hunting small game first but I dont want to kill something i wont eat or use. And yes i can practice shooting a bow right on my land, but i do not have land to hunt on.

I have not hunted before. Lived in a city my whole life and im finally where I belong. I would love to hunt whitetail so i can stock up my freezer next year. I just dont know where to begin. I dont have a mentor because I dont know anyone. And i would prefer to bow hunt.
