The herd was moving away from us 200 yards on the other side of a hedgerow we we tried to move ahead and cut them off where we thought they would cross, we got busted at about 100 yards. With the wet sloppy snow, I brought a 99 cent table clothe from dollar tree, kept us dry when sitting and is much quieter than garbage bags imo, just an fyi for everyone sitting on the ground when it’s wet

Up in a tree on public. Did a couple hours worth of scouting yesterday and I am very excited with what I saw. I know their bedding area and I now know their destination food source. From what I have gathered, they are exiting their bedding and heading straight to where I am, then peeling off to the north and staging in a mature oak flat before they hit a wide open ag field at dark. I haven’t had a camera here in months, but I did hang one over the field on my way in. I am approximately 150 yards from bedding, as I didn’t want to make a bunch of noise and get too close to them since this is a hang and hunt. I have to keep reminding myself to be patient and wait for a buck, but unfortunately I have very little self control and will likely shoot the first thing that walks by lol. As long as the follow the same trail that they have beat down in the snow I will be fine with the wind. Just need them to move during daylight. I only saw one other set of boot prints and they seemed like they were here while we were getting the first round of snow last Wednesday. Good luck if anyone else is out.

damn i love it. Proud of the kid tonight. I pushed in a touch to far and bumped them walkimg in. I had to get him out of the wind. I put him inside a pair of my white camo bibs. Not 1 piece of candy or nutter butter eaten as he now sees the season almost over. Watched the woods all night. We nearly got a shot at a loan fawn at 60yds at the end. We watch as it fed down the woods line in the snow. Just something peaceful and calming hunting winter. Beautiful sky tonight. Great night without the mess.....

One small buck tonight..crazy some of you guys have snow..almost 50⁰ here and no snow.
That's about it for me for the season.may try next Saturday but can't really complain..after getting hit hard with EHD and losing several shooters was still able to pass on a couple really nice bucks. On to next season hoping some of them put on some inches.

Saw some deer, not THE DEER though. Will readjust for my next outing, thankful for the career I’ve chosen and for the schedule that comes with it. Hoping to be out every day for the next week. As long as my bow didn’t take too much damage since my carabiner failed and I dropped it 23’+… IDIOT. Thank god hoyt makes a durable bow. First time I’ve done that, and hopefully my last.

All I can see is a very very small scratch on the limb. No damage to the cam that I can tell. I ran it through the draw cycle a dozen times without any problems. I’ll shoot it Monday morning just to be sure everything is still dialed. Talk about panic and stress lol
