Who's Going Out for the 3 Day Early Gun Season?

I'll be heading to Hardin County to hopefully get some action with my new R.I.A. Pro Match Tac Ultra 10mm. 💯
Wyandot and Marion Counties are included in this 3 day season. October 8th, 9th and 10th. Friday-Monday.

Good luck to those of you that are going! :cool:

And the meat has to removed from the carcass if you want to bring it back to your county. I know for a fact that the GW's will following up with hunters from other counties who tag deer in from those 3 counties. Gonna be watching for people shooting them in other counties and falsely reporting them and for transporting whole carcasses across county lines

Just be sure to follow up with the testing. Otherwise they're gonna kill off every deer in those counties.
I'd like to know how the hell Hardin County ended up as being one of the DSA counties anyway. 🤔 There are NO positive test results for CWD, in Hardin County.

Even if I get the deer tested, I'd like to know the results before I waste my time and money having it processed. :mad: Damn it anyway! I was ready to hunt a property that's as far away from the alleged CWD, at the southwest corner of Hardin County.

I may end up shooting a deer that's "trespassing" from Hardin County, but lives in a neighboring county. :ROFLMAO:

A couple of pen raised deer has nothing to do with the wildlife population. 🙄 Classic case of ignorance with the DNR.
I may end up passing on this weekend's hunt. I don't know if I want to be bothered with the hassle and expense of checking, waiting, special processors, tag cost and don't get me started with the recent gas price increase. :mad:

I work for the state and was up at Hardin county garage Wednesday and they said they plan for a lot of new folks to show up. Seen some nice bucks already taken from there. After this is all said and done that looks like some good hunting property in that area.

Just wait until some fuckhole takes a positive tested deer to another county...

No one is forcing you to hunt that property. During this weekend or any throughout the season, these are the rules you have to play by.

I personally wouldn't mind hanging out at one of these stations with my kids. Like old times. Be cool to see what comes in and hear the stories while ODNR is doing what they need to.

@giles ,
I agree with you, that I don't have to hunt that property and I don't mind going through their testing process. It just seems like a huge waste of my time and money to go through everything that it takes to get a deer, get it tested, processed, etc. and then find out that the meat has to be disposed of and not eaten. 🙄

Even the CDC states that there's no strong evidence to show that CWD can be transmitted to humans...cooked meat or not. According to what I'm reading on the CDC website, the CWD prions can not be cooked out. Even so, by their own admission they have no evidence that humans can catch it or be affected by it. 🤔

I'm going to call the Hardin Co. GW, later today and get some more info on testing results times, etc. and post up my findings afterwards. 👍:cool: It's going to be his job to know this stuff.

Same rules for hunters that travel to and from other states now. If it isn't worth you time and hassle, don't do it. Let someone else take the property that is willing to do it properly. (Not saying that you won't, just saying in general)
