@Jamie. What is it and was it edible?
 
The one foraging page I found says there’s three different types of beefsteak type. Only one they consider edible and that’s after all kinds of boiling or some thing to get rid of toxins I guess? I always figured if I saw them I’d probably stop them in the ground LOL

oyster mushrooms from the land that time forgot. never seen them so big. two or three days past their prime, but still good. drying up on the edges, but no bugs on them to speak of. seems like the bugs really do a number on them sometimes. that bottom mushroom is the size of a dinner plate, my pocket knife sitting on it for scale. got a nice pretty bunch of Chant's and the best of these Oysters at my place today. come on rain!

Inspired but let down. Summer/fall shroom ing is more enjoyable to me I believe just because I find more but it's dry as a popcorn fart. About kicked one lonely shroom walking out of the woods. 0 poisonous found.
